Our Story
Eastern Counties Leather was founded in 1879 based in Sawston in the heart of Cambridgeshire.
We have a long history of manufacturing chamois leathers and sheepskin rugs, but in recent years has extended their range to include coats, gloves, slippers, purses, handbags and much more.
Eastern Counties Leather was created to promote the best of British and International leather and sheepskin products.
We have created an outstanding collection which represents the best of British and International leather and sheepskin products with both time-honoured and contemporary designs. Our suppliers use manufacturing techniques that bring together the best of traditional craftsmanship using carefully sourced and selected materials and modern production methods.
We supply to the trade and always welcome new customers to stock our range. We pride ourselves on holding a good stock level throughout the season*, we don't generally have pack sizes of minimum qty orders**, allowing you to order what you need, when you need.
We welcome ordering in several ways.
1) We have our online website that allows you to see multiple product images and colourways, detailed descriptions, see stock availability and place orders in your own time.
2) We appreciate some people still prefer a brochure to flick through. This can be downloaded from our Dropbox link, or a copy can be emailed to you. orders can then be placed via telephone or email to our sales office. The brochure is interactive, so clicking the images will take you to our trade website to see multiple images of products that we can't always display with limited brochure space.
3) The PERFECT way to see our whole range is at one of the trade shows. We are normally at Spring and Autumn Fair at the NEC in Birmingham where the majority of the range will be displayed, this is ideal for seeing all colourways and items in real life. Alternatively you can see us at Footwear Today Live, National Conference Centre, Birmingham. We will update the footer of our website with trade show details so you can always see where we will be for upcoming shows.
* stocks maybe lower or out of stock once the peak season has finished, subject to higher than forecasted sales** some small lower price items are sold as a pack or have a minimum order qty, these are marked clearly throughout the brochure and online and are a only on a handful of our products.
